The image of a typical massage table and oils is one that most of us are familiar with. Massage, on the other hand, does not fit neatly into any of these categories. There are thousands upon dozens of variants, even within one massage niche.

Modalities refer to the various sorts of massages and procedures available. Modalities were created to address specific problems or areas of concern in order to achieve customised solutions. We won’t include all of the modalities here because there are so many, but we’ve listed 11 of the most prevalent ones below.

Not every modality is right for everyone, which is why it’s so great: you can discover a massage that suits both your requirements and your philosophy.

1. Massage with essential oils

Aromatherapy massage includes the use of essential oils in the massage process. Essential oils have been used for thousands of years in ancient Egypt, where they were frequently used in perfumed massages and aromatic baths.

Craniosacral therapists frequently massage you while you are completely dressed, using soft and still movements.

Unlike many typical massages, which begin with a chair and then progress to a massage table, craniosacral sessions frequently begin with a massage chair and then progress to a massage table. 3. Massage of the Deep Tissue
